TRAILS

You can choose from hundreds of miles of trails in Southeast Ohio and Northern West Virginia.  Not only do the state parks, Desonier Preserve and Wayne National Forest all have trails, and parts of the Buckeye Trail cross through the tri-county area as well. 

Most of these trails and other Athens area trails and Southeast Ohio trails can be used for hiking, biking, ATV's and winter sports. 

The Hockhocking-Adena Bikeway   (map below) runs 18 miles from East State Street in Athens, around the Ohio U. campus, through parts of the Wayne National Forest to Hocking College in Nelsonville. 

HORSEBACK RIDING

The Smoke Rise Ranch, Lone Oak Farm and Uncle Bucks Stable are all within about an hour's drive and offer riding lessons, trails and other activities for children and adults.
